Fisting: Sexual practice, Tips for safe fisting

Fisting is a sexual practice that is not limited by sexual orientation. These are our tips to know so you can do it safely.

In short, one of the partners tries to insert his hand (fist = fist) into the other person. It can therefore be vaginal or anal fisting.

How to fist properly

It is important to realize that this practice requires very careful preparation, lubrication and caution in order to minimize the risk of physical as well as psychological injury to both partners.

Fisting, whether vaginal fisting, anal fisting or bdsm fisting, is about overcoming the boundaries and limits of one's own body, and therefore we should think about all the possibilities of health risks and how to prevent them.

Patience... a lot of patience!

As with the activity itself, so also with the shift vision. Take your time. Be careful!

Think about hygiene!

A healthy glans or anus means clean hands/utensils, no sharp edges and certainly no sharp nails. When fisting, you go really deep and along the inside walls, so even a small cut can cause a lot of discomfort.

Those who lube, they go

Of course, this is also true in sex, especially fisting, and even more so in anal or gay fisting.

We use lubricant not only to make it easier to insert the hand into the body, but also to hydrate the tissue inside the body.

During stretching, small cracks can occur on the surface and inside - the right lubricant will therefore prevent burning or possible inflammation. Inflammation may not occur with absolutely correct hygiene.

Use gloves

Safety and hygiene are of course essential. However, if you want to take it to a higher level, use latex gloves. They will prevent bacteria from penetrating deeper into the body and at the same time help the entry into the body. As part of bdsm fisting, this is also an interesting fetish accessory.

Communicate more than usual

As with any sexual practice, communication is important. Why do we want to try fisting, what do we want to start with, when is it most pleasant for a woman to introduce larger objects into the vagina during the cycle, etc. Communicate even during fisting.

We can't read minds, so it's important for both parties to talk about what's comfortable, what's not, and how to turn the hand to make it more comfortable. Being relaxed, not pushing anything and ideally trying fisting during sex, when the body and head are already "on the right track", are my personal recommendations.

A light warm-up before the event will help

Fisting is a long shot for both parties. To enjoy it, you have to practice relaxing your muscles and your mind. Be prepared for all the risks associated with this practice. To begin with, try a toy and gradually just the hand or the whole fist.

Remember, there is never enough lube. Don't push yourself or your partner. Treat yourself to time and a warm shower, try vaginal fisting even during menstruation.

I have a hand there. What now?

As you probably already found out, the easiest way to get it into your body is to get your fingers together in the tightest possible shape, like a tip. If you're deep enough inside, you can try closing your fingers into a fist and moving your hand up and down.

You're in the final stages of fisting and... hand on that!

Of course, fisting as such does not end with having your fist in, but you also have to get it out. In this step, again pinch your fingers at a fixed point and slowly pull them out. The opening, whether anal or vaginal, is much more relaxed at this stage, so it will go more easily - although I recommend adding lube to make it really smooth.

After removing the hand or toy, check yourself and your partner. Check to make sure you haven't had an accident and accidentally scratched somewhere you shouldn't have. Afterwards, rinse your hands and holes under running water to prevent unwanted inflammation.

Whether or not you plan to continue the practice, it's important to talk after the experience. What it was like, what we liked, what we didn't like, what we would have done differently.

Fisting is also demanding on a person's psyche, because it hits the physical limits of the body. So don't forget about aftercare. Some people just need to talk, others just need to cuddle and vent together, or take a shower together.

Think of others, but also of yourself.
